Will participation in a Phoenix Elementary classroom enrich and support your child’s learning?
The goal: that participation in Phoenix Elementary School will contribute to goals set in your child’s learning design plan. Student participation will benefit student learning and fellow learners at Phoenix Elementary learning community.
Program criteria must first be met to register for this Hybrid program.
Your child will be enrolled in Learning Design Partners (LDP) for a majority of their program. The LDP teacher will then consult with the Phoenix team to assure a good fit. Participation is dependant on space availability.
This will then be followed by consultation between the Parent and the Learning Design Partner teacher to establish the best times and goals.
- the majority of student program delivery will be met in Learning Design Partners
- to attend Phoenix Elementary at agreed times each week, beginning in September
- the student will receive direct instruction from a teacher in Phoenix Elem School (less then 50%) and participate in group work and activities with other students.
- Be advised that at times the instruction schedule may be subject to change.
- Individual review will be made after an initial period by all partners to assure a successful learning fit.
Phoenix teacher will deliver direct instruction at agreed upon times, but will not be responsible for planning or providing work for home based programs.
Reporting of progress will be part of the Learning Design program. The Learning Design teacher will liaise with the Phoenix teacher to record progress and collect portfolio samples. The Learning Design teacher will collaborate three times per year with parent and student to write student progress reports and revise learning plans.
