Our students though often may learn in a variety of environments including their home are different from independent homeschooled children who may register with a school but receive no direct support by a resource teacher.
Learning Design Partner students
- students are enrolled in learning that takes place in both the home and school community
- a method of instruction that takes place outside the classroom setting and includes direct and indirect communication between students and teachers, including internet or other electronic-based delivery, teleconferencing, or correspondence.
- program is the responsibility of School District 64
- program is directed and supervised by a British Columbia-certified teacher
- program meets provincial standards
- students receive on-going regular assessments, report cards, and a permanent student record
- this is a strictly secular program
The Homeschooled child
- Homeschooled children are registered at a school by September 30th
- Homeschooled children’s educational program is the responsibility of the parent/guardian to provide and supervise the educational program.
- Homeschooling program does not have to meet provincial standards
- Homeschooling is not inspected by the Ministry of Education
- Students do not receive a British Columbia Dogwood graduation certificate
